Preparing for a public outreach event at the American Museum of Natural History

Broadening participation in science has many positive impacts to both individuals and society. I believe it is crucial for scientists to engage the public in “informal” science outreach to help educate, influence, and inspire future generations. I have participated in a variety of outreach events in both community and museum-based settings.

I also have experience a scientific consultant on several museum-based projects (AMNH & NMNH), and helped develop materials for new public exhibits, including the “Deep Time” Hall of Fossils at the National Museum of Natural History (Smithsonian Institution).
